on friday the 11th of august, we in the renate comiclibrary
went to lindow, close to lübeck and just 20 minutes with
car to the ostsee. there we were supposed to draw some comix
for the new renate-zine#16, called "renate auf'm land",
or in english "renate on the countryside". around
17.00 rike came to pick me up in her li'l red vw polo, together
with vincent and lili. after we also had picked up harald, we
headed for the autobahn A24, in a maximum loaded car full of
backpacks, tents, sleepingbags and other (un)necessary stuff.
after nearly 4 hours we reached our destination, to find auge,
päm
and their kids allready there from the day before.(nettmann
and roman came 3 days later.) |

we went inside the "kulturscheune", just to find
a real cool place for drawing comix...and to play ping pong.
i had previously been in paris for 3 weeks, so i felt for
having a vacation out in the nature. before and under the
car ride i was thinking about what sort of comic i wanted
to draw. in a way i was sick'n'tired of big cities, and longed
for just sitting outside watching the stars with a cold beer
in my hand.
so, obviously i thought about making some sort of a "anti-big-city-&-pro-nature"
comic. yeah, just like a li'l hippie that i know lives somewhere
deep inside of me. and i also didn't feel for doing
another autobiographic comic, that would bore people to death
while reading it.
so, i brought 2 cd-booklets with me. one with the lyrics
to the english anarcho punkband sub hum ans' song "big
city", & the other with the swedish 70's weirdos
philemon arthur and the dung's "naturen". i thought
i could illustrate those lyrics into something hopefully good.

so, on saturday we all started drawing comix,
or atleast making scetches for comix. but mostly we all
did other things, like playing ping pong. or kicker. or
just listening to the ramones "psycho therapy",
while drinking beer & talk about
whatever. like this it went on for
the rest of the week. the time for
drawing comix happened mostly ery
late in the evening. and even then
we rather decided to watch movies,
since the kulturscheune had it's own
li'l cinema,with a quite impressive
collection of dvd's. so, under this
time i saw a copy of "pirates
of the carribean pt.2", "baskerville's
dog", "hellboy", "dogtown
& z-boys", "mutant aliens",
"daftpunk" etc.
